This will not only increase your knowledge in repairing your appliance you can also save time and money. Here are some oven repair tips you can follow to get your gas oven up and running again.
If you own a gas oven with a pilot it’s probably the thermo coupler. The thermo coupler’s job is to control the temperature. If it is broken it will not notice that the pilot light has been turned on and therefore not turn on the gas. Although you can probably replace a thermo coupler by yourself it is best to call in a professional for this.
Your gas might not be turned on. So check if the gas line lever is parallel to the line itself. If it is turned on, make sure that you’ve paid your bill recently.
Check your igniter too. You can use an ohmmeter to check the continuity between the two wires going to the igniter. If there is no continuity the igniter needs replacing.
In some instances a clogged burner can lead to an over repair. If the tiny holes get clogged flames cannot come out properly and in some cases do not light up at all. To clean your burner use a large needle or a thin wire to unclog the holes.
